Procedure of competence test at the State Qualifying Commission, direction - "Ships Power"

Data concerning the issued certificates are immediately passed to the State Register of Documents of Seafarers of Ukraine.

To pass competence test and to receive Endorsement at SQC it is necessary to produce originals and to hand copies of the following documents:

1. Civil passport (1, 2 p., registration);

2. Seaman’s book (if available);

3. Diploma issued by an educational institution;

4. Certificate of Competency and Endorsement;

5. Medical fitness certificate;

6. Upgrading the rank – sea-going service certificates, certified in the approved order by the captain of the vessel and shipowner;

7. Certificates:

Refresher and updating courses;

"Basic safety training and instruction" (А-VI/1);

"Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats other than fast rescue boats " (А-VI/2-1);

"Advanced fire-fighting" (А-VI/3);

"First medical aid" (А-VI/4-1);

Certificates for work on tankers, passenger ships - for persons working on given types of ships.

On completion of verification for validity of the produced documents and after payment of  SQC services the seafarer receives a Competence Test Sheet and information concerning  competence test procedure.

SQC Competence test includes:

oral interview with members of the State Qualifying Commission result of which are recorded in the Competence Test Sheet;

computer test;

written and oral answers to examination cards.

State Qualifying Commission record of the approved sample is issued after successful pass of competence test at the State Qualifying Commission. On the basis of this record and documents listed above, Certificate-Passport Department of the Harbour Master of  Sevastopol Merchant Sea Port issues a Certificate of Competency and Endorsement.
