REQUIREMENTS TO TRAINEES OF TRAINING AND CERTIFYING CENTER OF SEAFARERS: NAVIGATORS

 

Procedure of receipt “radar navigation” certificates

Training for receipt of the following certificates is carried out at the Training and Certifying Center of Seafarers of Sevastopol National Technical University:

  • operational level (radar-plotting and use of ARPA) to meet the requirements of sections А-I/11, А-II/1 of the STCW Code;
  • management level (Radar, ARPA, bridge teamwork, search and rescue) to meet the requirements of sections А-I/11, А-II/2 of the STCW Code.

Corresponding courses are organized at TSSC according to IMO Model courses:

  • IMO Model Course – 1.07 Radar navigation Radar plotting and use of ARPA (1999 edition);
  • IMO Model Course – 1.08 Radar, ARPA bridge teamwork and search and rescue (1999 edition);
  • IMO Model Course – 1.09 Radar Simulator (1999 edition).

Courses training includes theoretical training and simulator training with the use of navigation simulator  NTPro 4000 manufactured by "Transas Eurasia" company.

On completion of training trainees pass examination to the State Qualifying Commission.

After successful passing of examination each graduate of courses receives  certificate with validity of 5 years, sample of which is approved by Ministry of Transport.

Data concerning the issued certificates are immediately passed to the State Register of Documents of Seafarers of Ukraine.

Groups of training are formed weekly. The period of training: Monday - Friday, examination - Saturday.
